NIOC CEO says Gazprom may partake in Iran–Oman gas pipeline
MOSCOW, Dec 22 (PRIME) -- Iran is interested in participation of Russian gas giant Gazprom in construction of an Iran–Oman natural gas pipeline, Ali Kardor, CEO of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said in an interview to Gazprom’s corporate magazine published on Friday.
“We are studying the possibility of joint implementation of several absolutely new projects with Gazprom, including the Iran LNG, Farzad-A and Farzad-B, North Pars projects. Besides that, prospects of joint laying of the Iran–Pakistan–India and Iran–Oman pipelines are also of a great interest,” Kardor said as cited by the magazine.
On December 13, Gazprom, NIOC, and Iran’s Oil Pension Fund signed a cooperation agreement on construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Iran. Gazprom said it will study a possibility to implement projects for production, transportation, and processing of hydrocarbons in Iran.
